Roma Awareness Campaign is designed to create a dialog between different social and political structures including NGOs, professional groups, local and regional administration and all potential agents that generate negative stereotypes about the Roma population in Moldova. All the proposed activities (round tables, seminars and a Roma Congress) will invite Roma and the aforementioned groups to express their aspirations, eventual solutions, and future expectations about ethnical harmony in Moldovan society.

The purpose of the project submitted by Pro-Democracy is to eliminate electoral illiteracy among youth and encourage participation in the upcoming parliamentary election. The NGO intends to organize a large information campaign about the importance of voting by placing posters in public places, mailing motivation letters to potential voters, delivering the message in internet cafes, bars, discos (places frequently visited by young population). At the beginning of the project the team members will distribute coupons among youth. The young people will have to apply the "voted" stamp when they vote in order to prove participation in elections. There will be a lottery draw at the end of the projects and around 60 winners will receive prizes. The project is expected to encourage participation among youth.

This project will encourage youth from Hincesti, aged between 18 and 30 to exercise their right to vote and to be elected; to take part at the democratic processes from Moldovan society. The project will increase the number of young people that will participate at the future parliamentarian elections and develop civic responsibility and the initiative of participation among youth from Hincesti. The NGO will organize a survey among students and youth, a training of trainers who will subsequently be involved in organizing workshops in educational institutions from Hincesti. The workshops will focus on the importance of voting and active participation of youth in public life. The NGO will also organize a roundtable with local public administration and voter parties for youth. Throughout the project MCCY will distribute motivational and information materials produced by the NGO and also publications taken from the Association for Participatory Democracy (ADEPT).

The purpose of this project is to provide cost sharing for a larger project implemented by the NGO with the support of Eurasia Foundation. The project focuses on free distribution, during 7 months, of a common supplement for the 18 newspapers, with local and national distribution, in a total print run of 80,000 copies, covering civil and electoral education. Expected results: - an impulse to the participation process in communities, as a result of citizens becoming aware of everyone's responsibility for solving common problems; - increase in the citizens' level of knowledge regarding their civic rights and how they can be realized; - increase in the electoral activism of the citizens with the right to vote; - strengthening of the concept of elections as a possibility to change into better the state of affairs in the society etc.

The purpose of the project is to increase civic responsibility and reduce the voters' absenteeism among students in the Southern regions of Moldova. The Implementation team will inform students of voting age from the universities, and other educational institutions from the regional urban center Cahul, about their legal electoral right and the principles of a free and correct elections campaign. The NGO will organize roundtables, seminars, voter parties, etc. The project activities are oriented to ensure a communication and constant collaboration with student environment by means of a "get out the vote" campaign. The project is expected to increase substantially the number of students participating in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

The goal of this project is to raise awareness among youth about the importance of participating in the upcoming parliamentary elections, and to increase their role in the society. The NGO will inform why it is important to participate in the elections and what the consequences of absenteeism could be. The young people will get some knowledge about the electoral system, voting techniques, laws on transparency, duties, and rights of the voters, necessary knowledge regarding the correct understanding of electoral messages in order to avoid manipulation. The NGO will distribute motivational flyers designed by the Association for Participatory Democracy (ADEPT) and publish set of articles in the local newspaper on the importance of voting, organize workshops and roundtables, produce a show for local television station about the voters' absenteeism and organize voters parties to stimulate participation in elections among youth.

The purpose of this project is to promote civic participation among potential voters, especially among youth from rural communities in Moldova. The NGO will achieve this goal by giving access to impartial information for young electors. The information will be organized and up to date regarding the electoral and political progress in Moldova. By this the NGO will contribute to the existence of democratic traditions regarding elections through development and involvement of youth in the electoral processes. Results: to create the "Virtual School for Young Electors", which would have the purpose to contribute to the development of interest for participation in elections at any level in youth, and to build understanding of the importance of voting.

The purpose of this project is to inform women about their rights and responsibilities and encourage participation of women in the upcoming elections from Moldova through the existing and active network of women and youth. The NGO will organize seminars and roundtables in 7 raions throughout the country using the existent network of women NGOs. The seminars and roundtables will focus on women's issues, importance of voting and active participation in public life of women, voting techniques, and other issue-oriented discussions. The participants in these events will have the opportunity to gain more information about the parties participating in the next elections from the booklet developed by the Association for Participatory Democracy (ADEPT), compare the platforms of these parties and make a better and wiser decision in the upcoming parliamentary elections. The project will result in better-informed women who will be able to make a better choice regarding their future.

Mostenitorii is an experienced NGO and probably the strongest from the Northern Moldova. The NGO will implement a project that will stimulate participation in the upcoming parliamentary elections among youth from 3 northern raions. The NGO will organize a training of trainers, which will prepare 20 volunteers who will subsequently organize 60 information seminars in educational institutions. The purpose of these seminars is to explain the importance of voting in a democratic state and stimulate participation among students. Mostenitorii will also organize roundtables with representatives of the parties participating in elections to discuss their platforms and public meetings in the rural villages. The implementation team will distribute information and motivational materials provided by ADEPT.

The purpose of the project is to stimulate participation of people from Balti and surrounding areas in the 2005 parliamentary elections. The project includes a large information campaign to disseminate the message on the importance of voting. This will be accomplished through information and motivational materials developed by the team or by the Association for Participatory Democracy, a billboard installed downtown Balti, stickers in public transportation and most visited public places, balloons, etc. The NGO will also organize a large information campaign in local media stimulating the journalists through a contest and two conferences at the beginning and end of the project.

Hope Public association is a nongovernmental organization from Cahul. The ConnectCahul project is designed to provide free access to up-to-date and independent information to the citizens of the Cahul region in southern Moldova. Over 400 used computers from the United States will be used in creating at least 34 community information centers in 24 different communities. The centers will be targeted towards youth, but open to the entire community. Each center will offer a variety of training courses and seminars, including computer training that will teach participants new skills. By creating a network of centers in the region, the ConnectCahul project will provide NGOs, local governments, and individuals the opportunity to share information and discuss ideas with neighboring communities. Furthermore, improved access to information will allow citizens to make better-educated decisions in their personal, economic and political lives. Agroconsultant Donduseni is a NGO registered in 1999 in the raion of Donduseni. The purpose of this project is to provide youth from Donduseni raion with the opportunity to develop free initiative, business knowledge and skills, and an understanding of the market economy and private business. The NGO will conduct business classes for 60 high-school students. After the classes each student will develop a business plan based on the knowledge acquired during previous activities. Students will learn the concepts associated with owning and running a business, the concepts of market economy. All activities are meant to stimulate critical thinking among the beneficiaries of this project. The activities of this project will be implemented in close collaboration and consultation with Junior Achievement Moldova.

Bria-Vis is a relatively new and small non-profit organization from small village called Ochiul Alb. The goal of the project is to open a small computer/community center in the village, which will be used mainly, but not exclusively by youth. The NGO will provide computer trainings on basic computer skills, being assisted by experts from the Internet Access Training Project and provide other computer related services. The purpose of this center is to develop new skills among youth and offer free access to information.

Community members will also have regular and free access to an increased number of resources in English (books, language CDs, maps, films, etc.). This project will help participants increase their proficiency in English, gain a greater understanding of the principles of democracy, develop critical thinking skills and develop leadership skills and self-esteem.

The project aims at following specific results: training 45 newly-recruited teachers, re-train (in refreshing workshops) 50 experienced teachers; conduct a business summer camp for 60 students, a business workshop for 24 students, and 2 regional economic weekends for 52 participants and print 2 titles of educational materials in (3000 +300) copies.
All JA programs and activities are designed to stress the role of life long learning and empowering business ethics. The beneficiaries of this education are students, the school community, the business community, the entire country.

The purpose of this project is to show the advantages of citizens' participation in the decision-making process and the disadvantages of non-participation. The project will contribute to the growth of civic activism on the left bank of Nistru River and will provide a formal and practical training regarding the decision-making process and the role of communities in solving local problems. The activities will take place in villages under Moldovan jurisdiction but located on the left bank of Nistru River.

The project purpose is to consolidate socially active organizations' capacity to participate in and influence public policies and decision-making process. The project will create the comprehensive module based policy advocacy oriented educational program composed of the 10 modules with necessary educational support materials available in two formats: 1) traditional face-to-face learning, and 2) one-line distance learning. More than 30 representatives of at least 20 civic organizations (of which half are out of Chisinau) will develop critical awareness, knowledge and necessary skills about the public policy processes, decision-making processes and necessary advocacy actions to produce changes in the interest of their beneficiary groups.

The purpose of this project is to prevent domestic abuse and work with the victims of domestic violence. The project will be implemented in partnership with the local administration of Balti, law-enforcement bodies and the community. The NGO will train a group of volunteers that will be dealing with DV victims and will deliver consultation services to the victims. The NGO sees women's empowerment as the best way to fight domestic abuse. The NGO intends to present the women with different opportunities to get more involved in the community life and increase their roles in the society.
